Just when we thought I couldn't get bigger...

A nameless person told me about 2 weeks ago that I look like I'm about ready to roll away. I was offended until I saw this pic from this weekend. Maybe it's the horizontal stripes, probably worsened by the misery you can see in that expression. I am ready to roll myself all the way to the hospital if that'll get this show on the road.
I went shopping yesterday and got stopped 8 times by people asking about the baby. I wasn't sure if I should feel like a celebrity or if I should feel like a freak show. Of course, everyone had an opinion or advice. That I had "dropped" and would go anyday....or I clearly haven't dropped and should plan on at least another week...that my feet look swollen and I must be miserable...or that they didn't even notice I was pregnant until I stepped away from the Twins tshirt rack...that sort of thing. At this point, I believe no one and trust no old wives' tales and have settled into the fact that I just might be pregnant forever.

Baby's Room

Guess what we paid for in this picture? The fabric for the curtains and chair. Baby's on a budget and happens to have thrifty and generous relatives. Thank you to my parents and sisters for finding/making/lending/painting everything! And thank you to Derek's mom for the great baby blanket by the crib, we love it!

The empty picture frame is the future spot for baby's name but I just couldn't spoil it by putting it on the blog before he's born....sorry. (plus I haven't done it yet!)

I have some good news and some bad news. The good news is I finally hung some shelves in the baby's room. The bad news is I'm still pregnant. My doctor appointment today was once again uneventful. Although "it could happen anytime!" I'll be going once again next Wednesday (assuming he doesn't make a surprise appearance in the next 5 days). If nothing has changed by next week, they will let us schedule a time to be induced for the following week. Derek has money on August 4, but I made sure to let him know we will take the very first option they give us. :)

Guess what? I'm still pregnant!

For all of you voters out there, please please stop voting for post July 30. I get the picture!

I guess I am thankful that there are at least 2 legit Baby Adamczyk pools out there with cash prizes so a lucky couple of people will soon be benefiting from my pain....hopefully in the very near future!

I had mexican food twice today, some pineapple at dinner, and Derek and I went on a decently long walk to get ice cream. PLUS I have been taking every opportunity to take stairs 2 at a time. Do these things work?

I was telling Derek that it's getting so weird leaving work every night as if it's my last day....cleaning everything up....leaving notes for people of what needs to be done just in case I don't show up the next morning...yet preparing myself mentally to be back antoher day. That's probably the toughest part. I will be doing a major walk of shame if I show up again next Monday because already I am bombarded with, "You're STILL here?!" when I get to my desk for at least the first hour of the day as people come in. Another day, another dollar. (But more importantly, another unused PDO day.)

WELL...doctor tomorrow, I hope there's some sort of changes to fill you in on...I'd take anything at this point!

Waiting Waiting Waiting

Here are some more stolen pics courtesy of my sister Katie. We went to Megan and Ryan's for some grilling and gaming last weekend....can you tell by these pics that we are tired of WAITING? :) At least we found out that me and baby make a phenomonal Bunco team. We were undefeated and completely took over the game. Beginner's luck for both of us I suppose.

Elliana LOVES Derek. It's taken some time for her to warm up to him, but she always is so excited to see him and wanting to know where he is at all times. Sometimes she calls him Eric, but nevertheless, the love is there.

Being baby-less is boring. Hopefully he'll liven up our lives a little bit. We clearly need it.

I should also make mention that we are both making baby oh-so-proud by getting bonuses/promotions at work in the past 2 weeks. You can congratulate us later. To celebrate, Derek bought NCAA Football 2011 and I treated myself to 2 giant glasses of Kool Aid while watching him play. (Oooh yeaaaah.)

I'm hoping for some sort of news on Friday, but let's not get our hopes yet. Blog polls don't lie.

No news is...good news?

There is not much to tell after my doctor appointment this morning....which is a good/bad thing for all of us! It's always good to hear that the baby is doing well, but I got my hopes up that I might be a little more dilated or they would give me a little better of an idea of when this kid will get here. No such luck.

It's a waiting game to say the least and I can't tell you how hard it is now that it's down to a matter of days. The doctor could tell I was a little upset and reassured me that the end is in sight and that they'll induce me at 41 weeks. But still...that's 3.5 weeks more of trying to find clothes that fit and waddling in and out of work. Both things that I'm so over. Plus, I'm just a little excited to finally meet this baby after so many months of waiting. (...and when I say a little excited I actually mean SO excited.)

We have a few more things to get ready before the big arrival and I also bought stuff today to make a baby book for him. (And yes, I'm still planning on putting up pics of his room, but there are a few key items that are missing so hang tight.) I'm hoping that I can keep myself busy for just a little longer so I don't drive myself crazy waiting around for labor pains.

Mainly I just hope he comes before I sweat to death.

23 days to go

Well, I don't think we'll have a Yankee Doodle baby like I hoped. I was prepared to stick a feather in his hat and call it macaroni, but I think that it's too hot for hats and that's only appropriate if he arrives in the next 2 days or so (unlikely).

But the good news is I am 1 cm dilated. I had some contractions this week that have been helping the baby work his way down and he is in just the right position for delivery (the doctor felt his head and everything. For the record, I was grossed out when she told me that so I don't blame you if you are too.) Supposedly, how they are positioned at 36 or 37 weeks is how they tend to stay.

Anyway, baby is ready for launch, all systems are a go and he is now officially considered full term. They didn't really give me any idea of if they think I'll go early, on time, or late, but I think their guess is as good as mine or yours at this point. The important thing is he is gearing up for his big day and making his way down, head first.

(Oh and my sister Katie said she's heard more babies are born when it's a full moon which just so happens to be July 26...)

I did a few other tests and passed with flying colors so other than the fact that it's a 91 degree weekend and I have to wear glasses to watch tv, I don't have many complaints (and the fact that we still don't have a name picked out!).

Happy 4th!
