Happy 8 Months!

Lucas turned 8 months old today!  His favorite toys these days are cell phones and recycable items. He is also mastering "pattycake" aka clapping his hands and giving high fives.  Derek and I went to the Timberwolves (or should I say Celtics) game and Lucas was lucky enough to have my bff Sonia plus the Mansours come play with him and put him to bed. Thanks guys!

Can you solve the puzzle?

We watch Wheel Of Fortune every night...nerd alert??  Anyway, Lucas was especially interested in this puzzle because he got roped into playing house with Caden, Elliana, and Mimi this week (I'm not sure he has much of a choice!).  Mimi was the mom, Caden was the brother named Dan, Elli was the sister named Sally and Lucas was the baby named.....JUSTIN BIEBER.  Caden and Elli have a little Bieber Fever these days I guess.

He holds anything and everything up to his ear like it's a phone.  Luckily he got it right when he snagged mine off the table.

I forgot to officially say that Lucas' Baby Idol journey came to an end this week. :(  He did not make it to the final round.  I was getting tired of begging my Facebook friends and coworkers to vote though so I think it's for the best!

Also, he now has both of his bottom teeth! He is getting to be a really good eater - his faves are sweet potatoes and pears.  He's a super fast crawler and I have him in training for the Maple Grove Days 'Diaper Dash' in July.  I think I'll just have Mimi stand at the finish line holding a remote control, TC Bear on a Stick and a bottle and I'm sure he will be unbeatable.

He graduated into the 'Waddler Nursery' at church a few weeks ago.  It's for babies 9 -18 months older, but since he's such a fast mover, they thought he should move up.  It's so scary to drop him off with babies who have a full mouth of teeth, full head of hair and towering over little Lucas.  But they always say he seems to have so much fun and everyone comments on how advanced he is for only 7 months old.

Lucas cruised the aisles of Costco with us this weekend.  This was his very first shopping cart experience.  Usually I leave him in his baby carseat, but it's getting to be too much to carry so into the cart he went.  He was so nonchalant about it.  He honestly just was silent the whole trip, just watching the gigantic things we passed, taking it all in.  Such a good baby!

I took this on my phone a few weeks ago, but it was just too sweet not to post. 

Round 2...ding ding!

The GREAT news is Lucas made it Round 2!  He is in the top 100 out of 2,000 babies in the Baby Idol contest!!

The unfortunate news is you have to KEEP VOTING!  'Official' voting starts tomorrow morning at 7:00am and goes through Sunday.  BUT if you go to the link today, it still lets you vote.  Who knows if today's votes will count but it certainly can't hurt to try.  So keep voting now through Sunday and I will post again on Monday if he made it to the top 25! (in which case, we will need your voting help again.... :)
