Baby's first REAL haircut

Lucas (or Boocas as he calls himself thanks to Elli & MayMay) turns 17 months old tomorrow and with another big life event coming up in about 10 days (lucas's mom is becoming an Adamczyk!), we decided to pay the big bucks for someone who knows what they're doing to work their magic on this head of hair. It's a little more mohawk spikey than my liking, but he sure looks handsome, doesn't he???

Santa came!

But he didn't bring much. :)  Lucas got a remote control car and some matchbox cars from Santa.  Santa needs a new roof.  And a wedding.  And to pay off his student loans. etc.etc.

Opening the special delivery from Auntie Shannon

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse!  Lukey is a huge fan and always nods his head frantically yes when Mickey asks if he wants to go in his clubhouse. Mouse-ke-thanks Shannon!

Navigating the kitchen with his new car takes full concentration.  No time to pose for the mamarazzi.
Running his Christmas Eve laps.

Lukey & Uncle Ryan.  I take FULL responsibility for making Lucas look like a t-bird.   I couldn't find his "nice" khakis and haven't done laundry in 10 days (at least) so the white shirt and jeans combo were one of our only non-sweat pants options.  The t-birdness didn't even occur to me until I looked at this picture.  So sorry!

unfortunately, these did not really turn out.  Maybe it's because we're standing in front of a mini tree.  Maybe it's because lucas looks like a t-bird.  Maybe it's because I desperately need/want/must chop my hair.  Maybe it's because Derek is less than thrilled to be in this family photo shoot.  Maybe it's because the lighting at our church makes it look like we're in the OJH underground locker room.

Pops & lukey checking out the lights. (yes, he is getting his curled under whispy mullet cut off this week!)

I was trying to make "art" for Lukey's bedroom and/or baby book that I may or may not ever get around to making....as you can see he was a little less than cooperative.

House, Christmas, etc. etc.

Here's Lucas pretending to admire our 6 ft potted artificial tree.  It seemed like a great idea in the clearance aisle of TGT last January when we lived in a tiny apt.  6 ft (including the pot) seems unusually small in 10 ft ceiling rooms.  Just so you know if you find yourself snagging clearance christmas items in a few weeks. It'll do for this year.  I also should mention we have about 7 ornaments all hung at the tippy top of the tree.  Lucas likes to attack the tree so they all fall off.  If I could staple/glue them, I would as picking up 7 ornaments 10 times a day really wears a gal out.

Typical night at our new home.

Dressed identical to last year when we took him to see Santa.  We were heading to see him again but OOPS, he wasn't there.  Just one reindeer in a cage.  And other places around here do not allow cameras AND charge $30+ for one photo with Santa that they take....so sorry Lukey boy, we have a new roof to save for. (although now that we have internet only 1 month after moving in (sore subject still) maybe I will research free santas in the 55443 area.)

Modeling.  Oops, I forgot to take off the tag on his shoes. Well I guess now you know Lukey has officially graduated into size 5's.
