Santa

We had breakfast w/ santa this morning.  Lucas managed to whisper "tonka trucks" while on santa's lap and while we ate said very quietly "more bacon."  Otherwise the boy was mute for the 30 minutes or so we were there.  

A look back....Santa has always been a sobering experience.  Aren't kids supposed to be excited? 

Asian Dictator Toddler

Lucas: I want a snack. Raisins and goldfish, that's what I need......Please.....In a bowl. 
(5 minutes later, I still didn't get them)
Lucas: RAISINS AND GOLDFISH!  That's what I want! Need them!

After changing his diaper, I kissed his belly.
Lucas: No, Mama! You kiss my cheek! .......yes, that's better. 

Lucas: I see goldfish and diapers there.  STUFF under there.
me: Where?
Lucas: There!  Under there!  Stuff under there! (pointing to the couch)
Me: Can you get it out please?
Lucas: No!  YOU get it out......not meeeeee. YOU DO IT!

Wolves

We got some good seats to the Wolves/Bucks game (for FREE!) so Derek, my dad, Lucas and I went.  Lucas came to one Wolves game with us last year but I think we spent more time walking around and actually had to leave at halftime.  He was much more 'engaged' in the game this season.  His eyes lit up when all the lights went out and there was a big full moon in the corner of the arena so I grabbed my phone and recorded him for the starting lineup.  Nothing too interesting in this video but it was still a fun night and very fun to watch the game experience through the eyes of a two year old.  He cheered and clapped when either team scored and did his fare share of howling.  He also could spot Crunch at pretty much any given moment.  Our plan was to leave after the 3rd quarter at about 9:00 but he was still wide awake and happy so we didn't leave until about 3 minutes left when he finally announced he was tired and wanted to go.

I played around with about a billion camera settings to use w/ christmas lights while lucas watched toy story 2 (for the 3rd time this week...).  I'm not super impressed with any of these and didn't bother correcting the lighting/editing because...well, I got tired.......but I am learning! and have a whole month of plugging the christmas tree in every night to keep practicing.

This one is no good EXCEPT it shows off these cute jammies with moose feet.

Big Boy Bed

...the first night was a SUCCESS.  Lucas fell asleep looking at books in his big boy bed after about 30 minutes.  We spied on him on the video monitor and he was very well behaved.  I ti toed in to cover him up and he woke up a little bit but went right back to sleep hugging Mickey Mouse tightly.  He even stayed in bed til almost 8:30 today! 

His first big boy bed nap was ok....a little more trouble but he was reminded that if he makes it the whole weekend of sleeping in his bed, he earns a trip to his fave place in the world...."the doughnut store."  He fell asleep after 30 or 40 minutes again.  I snuck in to turn off his little lamp and he was in a very uncomfortable position but hey, as long as he's sleeping, right?  He slept his normal nap time and woke up a little cranky (see below) but recovered pretty quickly.  He also slept on a car which is why his one cheek is so red in all the other pics...

Roman gave this little pumpkin to Lucas so I wanted to get a pic of it before it rotted.  The photoshoot was short lived though due to "too cold!"  (for the record, it was not THAT cold and we were out there for about 45 seconds hence why there is TWO pictures to show for it. The second picture is when he is telling me it's "too cold, mama!")
