Wk-EnD FuN

We tried to do a photo shoot like the Howard kiddos do, but with 1 photographer and a crazy 11 month old, this was the only pic I got.  I failed to realize I needed someone to hold him down and make silly faces.  I know better now.

Saturday morning, (kind of but not really) watching Yo Gabba Gabba and eating cheerios. The good life.  I didn't even freak when he dumped the whole bowl of cheerios out and started stepping on them all.  Why?  Because I'm in love with my Dyson and couldn't wait to get her out again.

This might be my favorite picture of Lucas I've ever taken.en.

Isn't this just the sweetest?  He picked up his teddy and gave him a good long snuggle.  Then he bit his nose and ears and growled. Such a sweet boy.

Things got suspiciously quiet from all the screaming and babbling that usually is going on.  I was putting away some laundry and came out to fins THIS.  My wallet was stolen, credit cards thrown out all over the floor.

I caught the suspect with his hands up

I was bummed to miss out on the Wisconsin fun, but definitely had some quality fun with my little guy this weekend.  I miss him so much during the week and LOVE the extra time together we have on weekends like this one.

PS my prediction for him waking up at 6:00am this morning was WRONG....he woke up 8:40.  I call that a major victory.
Sometimes we put Lucas in this torture cell (also know as a pack n play) when we need to do something quick without him getting into trouble. You'd think by the way he cries and whines that he spends hours in there but this was literally a couple minutes. And yes the only time he says mama is when he is whining.

And a few vids for your enjoyment (or boredom) of the wild child we have on our hands.

When the cat's away, the mice will play

Lucas and I have been party animals while Derek's been gone. I've been letting him stay up "late" (8:30-9) in order to prep him for the west coast time zone on Wednesday.  He loves staying up late and actually seems to get pretty wild (until he completely crashes) but the whole point of trying this was for him to start to sleep in a little later so this poor mama isn't waking up at 4:00 AM PDT.  No such luck. 6:00 am yesterday, 6:00 am today, and I'm predicting 6:00 tomorrow.  Oh well, it was worth a shot.

Today we went to 'Kidstock' at Arbor Lakes with the cousins. Lucas and I agreed on the drive home that we thought it was lame.  Mainly because he couldn't get his face painted, make a craft project, or get crazy fair hair.  Or maybe he could have and he just has a lazy mom who didn't want to deal with the clean-up.  Either way, we weren't there long. (although he did dance to the Chicken Dance - trying to get him ready for Kelly's wedding. I'm SURE she'll have the chicken dance played...right Kell?)

We ran a few errands tonight before dinner and Lucas was on a roll getting complimented.  The DSW girl couldn't get enough of him, a girl in the parking lot stopped me to say how cute he was, the Old Navy checkout girl said he has 'mezmorizing' eyes, and a Babies R Us employee stopped to baby talk with him for a bit. Now the fact that he loves looking in the mirror and watching videos of himself all makes so much more sense to me.  Meanwhile, I was getting jealous of being overlooked and feeling a little down on myself that I don't have mezmorizing eyes. That is UNTIL we went to the drive thru of Taco Bell and the girl at the window told me "oh my gosh, you look like that one singer! you know....lalalalala (not singing a song, literally just saying lalalala).......... OH. I know. Jessica Simpson!"

If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that.....I'd probably have about $3. Give or take 2.

I have about 17 videos on my camera that I've been too lazy to upload.  They range in timing from 1st steps (9 months old - May) to running and screaming with his tongue hanging out (on the brink of 11 months old - today. I told you we've been getting wild).  My goal was to do it last night but instead Megan came over and we edited some sr pics we took for my cousin.  Then the plan was to do it tonight but for some reason I decided a thorough cleaning of our apartment was more important. I've been inspired since I bought my Dyson on Wednesday (I won $100 at work and decided to splurge on something FUN. :) So....5 loads of laundry, all furniture vacuumed, 1 rearranged baby room, and a clean fridge later, I can tell you they'll be coming sooooon.

Happy Father's Day!

Check out the new tooth
Daddy's home!

I can't wait to make them re-enact this at the high school graduation party in 18 years.
Why walk when you can run?! Running is Lucas' preferred method of moving these days.
#1 Baby. Or almost 1 year old baby. whatever caption you prefer.
Papa & little Derek (doesn't he look so much like Derek here?? Is it just me??)

Go Twins!

On Saturday we went to the Twins game and brought Lukey.  He was great and the people around us loved him not to mention it was a perfect day for a baseball game.

This is actually from way back in April. Notice any special messages?!

Baby's day out

Here's a mish mosh of pics. A couple from last week and then some from the Como Zoo.  We made the trek over to St. Paul with some friends for Lucas' first trip to the zoo.  He loved the monkeys (but sorry, no pics of him loving the monkeys.) and as for the rest of the animals....well, let's just say it was a free zoo.
Check out those teeth!  This was from last week and they are still on the verge of coming through.
