We went to Madison and Waukesha this weekend - Friday through Monday. Lucas was a great traveler once again and slept for most of the 5-6 hours there and back. We got the chance to introduce him to a lot of Derek's friends and old roommates in Madison on Friday and then headed to Waukesha where Derek's family lives. Lucas was awesome being passed around to all the aunts and uncles and friends who we got to see and we were so happy it worked out to make the trip out there. Hopefully we'll be back soon! I have ZERO pictures from our weekend (what a horrible mother!) but swiped a couple from Facebook from Derek's friend Monica.

In other news, Lucas found out that it takes less muscles to SMILE than to frown. As of Monday, he's been a very happy baby, smiling, cooing little baby noises, and kicking up a storm. He is right on track to his career as an NFL kicker so he can pay off his poor mother's student loans. Speaking of the NFL, Lucas is super excited for the Vikings/Saints game tomorrow and despite Derek's best attempts at making him hate the Vikes, I think we all know Lucas will be cheering on the purple tomorrow. Derek's aunt and uncle gave us some preseason tickets for last week's game and although Lucas would have loved to come, I valued his eardrums to much to allow him in the Metrodome. He spent the night watching Keeping up with the Kardashians and the Twins game with Auntie May May and Uncle Ryan.
We also had one last shower thrown for us by some of the ladies at my church, most who have known me since I was a baby! They were all so generous and had such great advice to share with us. Lucas once again was a very well behaved young man and let everyone hold him without making a peep. Thank you SO MUCH to everyone who came and especially to Becky, Lindsay, and Jeri for the hosting/planning. Here are a few pictures courtesy of Lindsay's Facebook.... :)

The kicking is clearly because he is going to be a soccer player, just like his daddy wishes he was.
