MG Days or Bust

This was pre-MG Days.  We finally found some patio chairs so we ate outside for the first time.  And then promptly moved inside due to being bothered by a bee or two.  (ok, just one bee, we are clearly not very outdoorsy).

In the age old question of "MG Days or Bust" the answer for us for the 3rd year in a row was....bust.  Let me explain.

Year one - 2009 was good.  That was the first time Derek met my sisters - a brief hello at the corn feed.

Year two - 2010 was year one of bad.  I was 9+ months pregnant and it was nearly 100 degrees of waddling up & down main street. One person who will remain unmentioned told me I looked terrible and gave me the wise old advice of "just when you think you can't stand being pregnant one more day, you probably have two weeks left."  Painful to hear. but surprisingly true - 2 weeks and 2 days later to be exact.

Year 3 - 2011 was year two of bad. We lived across the street so I thought "of course we'll walk!" which ended up being a lot more walking in the hot sun and crossing busy streets with a crying (nearly) one yr old who got too much of the hot sun and missed his nap because we spent too much time walking in the hot sun. (Also a rained out diaper derby dampened our spirits.)

Year 4 - 2012 was year three of bad.  I prepped by checking the website.  We had a two hr plan that seemed flawless but quickly tanked.  The 'Big Trucks' were not where they were supposed to be so we did laps.  We finally found the big trucks for the boy who is 99% of the time obsessed with big trucks.  I set him on Big Truck #1 and he touched with one finger a tiny tiny piece of metal.....and screamed and cried and tantrumed because it was "too hot!" Needless to say he had little interest in any of the other trucks because his poor pointer finger was hot.  I did manage to get a few non-crying pics by the fire truck while Derek finished his deep fried oreos, but the rest of our day involved eating hot dogs in silence and making the long walk back to our car. (followed by long naps by all.)

OH and we assumed the diaper derby would be rained out again so didn't go.  BUT IT WASN'T.  A horrible storm came at 4:45ish and was over around 6:15 and apparently some fearless babies showed up for the 6:30 race ready to run.

So long story short, lucas has another year in dipes.  We need something to redeem this bad streak and I think a diaper derby prize pack would do the trick.

It wouldn't be complete w/o a blinking pic.  I have quite the collection of these!

Father's Day

Oops, happy belated Father's Day.  Apparently I took a pic of Lukey's presents to Derek, but not a pic of them together.
